Instrumental Peace

One of our favorite projects in the past was a short documentary highlighting the role music plays in palliative care. We spent some time with Lauren Knatz, an eldercare and hospice musician who works across several counties in Central PA. We told her story through her own narration, as well as fly on the wall moments captured of her doing her work with the elderly population. She tells of the power of folk music, both in how it can help trigger familiar memories in patients suffering from dementia, as well as the importance of documenting local oral histories that would otherwise be forgotten. Lauren and her work is in inspiration to us, and it was a pleasure to create this piece with her.
